Crowd supports Barb
On 8/15 approximately 120 cyclists, along with CC Roadrunners and other supporters, traveled to Swantner Park for a prayer service and show of support for Barb Savell. The ride also helped raise awareness for road safety.

Volunteers Needed 8/8
The STARR Trek is one of our club's signature events, and we welcome a lot of new athletes to the sport of triathlon. We need your help to hold a first-class event. Please volunteer for the race on 8/8 and/or for setup the evening of 8/7.

Brewsters Bash
STARRS recently had a great meeting at Brewster's, featuring guest speakers, free appetizers and drinks, and door prizes.

Special Wed Night Ride
July 29, Lamar Park
At 6 p.m., we will meet before the Wednesday Night Ride to award checks to the Tarpon Foundation scholarship. The ride to follow will be dedicated to the recovery of Barb Savell and to the memory of Donnie Kloster and Dennis Lee.

STARRS Triathlon Club: Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart and soul of STARRS. Without your help, our races, social events, and contributions to the community would not be possible. STARRS members are expected to volunteer for at least two events per year. We also welcome and are grateful for the support of other organizations and individuals who donate their time and resources to the club.

 

Volunteers are always needed for STARRS events:

  • March: Wet N' Wild Triathlon
  • April: Corpus Christi Triathlon
  • Late spring through early fall: Time Trial Series
  • July: Summer party/STARRS birthday party
  • August: STARR Trek beginner and kids triathlon
  • September: Conquor the Coast bike ride
  • October: Keep Texas Wild Triathlon
  • November/December: Holiday party
  • December: Kids bike giveaway

Even if you cannot attend the actual event, help is needed with planning, preparation, and finding sponsors. We also need help with setup and cleanup for races.
